Susan Russo, BCAC Chairperson

Susan is a stained glass artist and has a studio in her home. The idea for a Community Arts Center came to her because, while she loves the
creative process of making windows, it can be isolating. Also, she’d love to teach this old-world craft to others. Susan is also a Psychiatric
Nurse Practitioner and sees patients at Alexian Brothers Behavioral Health Hospital, as well as in her office in Schaumburg. Susan is a 26-
year resident of Barrington where she lives with her family.
Vesna Boscovic, BCAC Vice-Chairperson

Vesna Boscovic is a graduate of University of Belgrade, Serbia, in chemistry engineering for ceramic and glass. She has 20 years of
International experience working and living in ex-Yugoslavia, United Kingdom, France and now United States. Since 2001 she has been
organizing summer artistic Workshops in France and has successfully overseen the selection, training and artistic production of over 20
selected artists from 2001-2004. She established
Communaute Artistique La Citadelle NFP to promote, sponsor and exchange art
and culture between France and ex-Yugoslavia, and has now established “La Citadelle Art” NFP here in South Barrington to promote
artistic exchange between Europe and North America and to help develop young artists on both continents. She has been recognized for
her work in numerous European magazines. During the last 3 years, helping to present international artists, she organized art exhibitions in
cooperation with SBPD, Cook County office of Maria Pappas and Hilligoss Galleries.
Therese Davis, BCAC Board Secretary

Therese Davis is a jewelry artist, working primarily with sterling wire, creating woven and wrapped pieces with gemstones and Swarovski
crystals. She also operates
FABRICations Workroom from her home creating custom slipcovers primarily for interior designers. Therese
grew up in Michigan where she learned to sew with her Grandmother by making Barbie doll dresses on a treadle sewing machine.  This
inspired her to earn a B.S. in Clothing & Textiles from Michigan State University, as well as an A.A. in Fashion Merchandising from
Northwood University. She has taught jewelry making as a freelance artist as well as knitting, crocheting and sewing in a variety of settings,
from independent businesses to chain stores. Therese lives in Barrington Illinois with her husband Mike and 2 boys, Owen and Zane.
Tamara Tabel, BCAC Marketing Chairperson

Tamara is president of the Barrington Writer's Workshop, a 30-year organization offering critiques and speakers to help area writers
improve their skills and increase their chances for publication. She is a former member of the Barrington Area Arts Council. Tamara is a
working writer/editor and marketing consultant with her firm Napping Cat Communications. She dabbles in poetry and is currently at work
on a novel. She has BA in Journalism with minors in English/Graphic Arts and is a graduate of the University of Chicago Great Books
Program. She resides in Barrington with her husband and two sons.
Charles Boyce, BCAC Publicity Chairperson

Charles is a syndicated cartoonist and president/owner of Mae Johnny Communications. He is a recent early-retiree of the Chicago Tribune
and the newspaper industry after 19 plus years. He attended the Chicago Academy of Fine Arts and the University of Illinois Chicago
Circle. He does consultant work with various media outlets. He is a board member of Youth Communication/Chicago, member of National
Cartoonist Society, American Association of Editorial Cartoonist and others. Charles resides in Barrington, IL with his wife and
Compu-Toon, a daily comic panel about people interacting with technology.
Carol Foster, Membership Chairperson

After more than 30 years in the title insurance industry, Carol Foster "retired" to indulge her creative side.  She began this journey by
studying under Frankie Johnson and Susan Ploughe, and has built upon those wonderful experiences with ongoing workshops and special
classes.membership seat of the BCAC board, she is a member of the Artist Association of Elk Grove, as well as the Lake County Art
League.  She is the artist owner of Foster Moments,
www.fostermoments.com.  She has exhibited at Main Street Art Centre and
various silent auctions and fund raisers.
Nita Hunter, Theater Chairperson

Nita  has been writing, producing, and directing audio theater for the past five years. She formed her own theater group, RG Productions,
with the goal of bringing authentic Old Time Radio classics to venues in Kenosha and Lake County communities and beyond!  Two of her
original radio plays have won statewide and national awards:  "And on the Eighth Day,"  (a re-telling of the Scopes Monkey Trial), and
'Rebecca Diamond: Private Eye.  She is also a full-time sixth grade teacher with the gifted program in Barrington School District 220.  She
and her family have resided in Barrington for over 20 years.
Linda Holway, Gallery Chairperson

Linda Holway has worked in the pharmaceutical and healthcare recruitment industry for 30 years. Foremost in her life, however, has been
the love of her family and lifelong interest in horses and art. To pursue her real interest, Linda began teaching and opened Wild Horse Art
Studios in 2005 which specializes in teaching the fundamentals of drawing, painting and watercolors to children and adults. Linda is best
known for her landscapes – an expression of peace and healing through the beauty and colors of nature. Her style is rich with color and
texture and is best described as semi-impressionistic. Linda became a creative and qualified artist from many years of classes and influences
from very well known artists. To keep her drawing and painting skills sharp, Linda is continually enrolled in college level art classes. Linda is
also experienced in critiquing art for community exhibits and teaching specialized art workshops for elementary and high school.
Jackie Smith, Education Chairperson

Jackie has been a life-long lover and participator of the arts. Since moving to Barrington in 1994 she has continued to develop her oil
painting skills, and has many works hanging in private collections across the country. Her continued passion is to be able to share her love
and knowledge of oil painting with others, so that they, too, can experience the joy and fulfillment that art can provide.
