The allure of brilliant, pure color and the ease of application make it a pleasure to work with.  Pastel lends itself to various styles and effects.” Congratulations to BCAC Members who received the following awards at the Elk Grove Village Library Art Display on October 15, 2010.

Press Release for showcase of Oksana's artwork:

OKSANA GRINEVA
JANUARY 8- FEBRUARY 2, 2010
Vincent van Gogh once stated, “Ah! Portraiture, portraiture with the thought, the soul of the model in it, that is what I think must
come. Contemporary artist Oksana Grineva captures alluring, provocatively posed female figures in an aesthetic manner which
translates their internal state of mind onto her rich canvases..  Ms. Grineva’s art celebrates modern womanhood by means of her
sensual depiction of the female form, vibrant color palette and vigorous brushstrokes.
Ms. Grineva captures her subject’s inner spirit by portraying subtle characteristics, such as a coyly lifted eyebrow or a pensive pout,
which convey the vulnerability behind each gorgeous face and confident stance.  Ms. Grineva’s depiction of a woman’s soft undulating
curves and modest exposure of flesh make the figures appear both palpable and inviting.  Ms. Grineva’s resonant color palette illustrate
her subject’s features, such as a head of fiery red curls and lean figure under a sweeping ivory gown, in a bold manner which leads the
viewers eye to the most engaging elements of the figure.  Her combination of short thick brushstrokes with long and smooth
brushstrokes creates a stimulating sense of texture upon the canvas.   Her figures do not address the audience and sit in their own
contemplative realm thus luring the viewer to wonder as to what the beguiling figures are ruminating.  Ms. Grineva’s artwork is a
dynamic fusion of masterfully rendered naturalistic likenesses and luscious aesthetic details which marvelously honor the venerable
tradition of depicting the human form.
Oksana Grineva was born in Siberia and currently lives and works in Chicago.  Ms. Grineva has exhibited her art Nationally and
Internationally, including shows in Istanbul, Turkey.  Her paintings are held in numerous private and corporate collections.
Amsterdam Whitney Gallery is proud to showcase her splendid artwork.
