Doris began her painting career eighteen years ago, studying at Harper College, The Studio of Long Grove and The Main Street Art Centre. She is a native of the Chicago area and has had a successful career in healthcare.
She is attracted by the endless variations of color, shape, and light that are present in the natural world. The structures of flowers and plants provide excellent and interesting studies in intricacy and form.
Doris works with pastels because, more than most media, they provide a vehicle to paint with energetic variations in value and contrast.
Doris exhibits frequently in Illinois galleries and local art shows and has works in many private collections.
